RUMM2020 to RUMM2030
An enhanced RUMM application for conducting Rasch item analyses was released as RUMM2030 on 1 January 2010. RUMM2030 offers a further advancement in the conduct of interactive Rasch analysis within the Rasch paradigm of measurement. RUMM2030 is available in two editions: Standard and Licence.
An overview of the two Editions is provided below, followed by a set of tabs for selecting the licence costs and ordering details.
The previous version of the RUMM Item Analysis application, RUMM2020, is no longer supported.
Standard Edition
The Standard edition of RUMM2030 is an upgrade from RUMM2020 in functions and in the presentation. This edition replaces RUMM2020, which was released in 2003.
As with the RUMM2020 application, the Standard edition of RUMM2030 is available as a one-off purchase.
Major additional features of the Standard edition include:
1. creating data sets with complete data records only (in the case of random missing data).
2. assessment of dimensionality.
3. additional details in test equating.
4. reference of the cumulative person distribution to the normal counterpart with the same mean and standard deviation.

Licence Edition
The Licence edition of RUMM2030 is an expansion of the Standard edition and
1. is available on an upgrade/maintenance basis and include the latest upgrade with each renewal.
2. is purchased as a renewable licence on an annual, renewable basis.
3. is a product of many years of research.
4. will help fund research into continued enhancement of the Rasch paradigm of measurement.
Major additional features included in the Licence edition:
1. assessment of local response dependence.
2. conditional test-of-fit for a pair of polytomous items or a pair of tests.
3. addition of Person Characteristic Curves and standard residual plots for individual person responses across items attempted.
4. post hoc tailored response analysis, e.g., for testing the significance of guessing.
5.
Facet Analysis for
up to a 3-way item response structure.
NOTE: If the Licence edition is not to be renewed, contact RUMM Laboratory for reverting back to the Standard edition.
Purchasing RUMM2030
To purchase RUMM2030, attach the completed Order Form to an email forwarded to RUMM Laboratory.
Renewing the Licence Edition of RUMM2030
When your current Licence Edition is within two months of expiry, RUMM2030 will advise of this situation on the Main Form and provide instructions about renewal. The following steps compliment these instructions, and are provided to assist you in this matter:
1. first go to the Help menu and click on the Save Licence Specifns item:
2. enter
a name for, and then create, the special licence renewal file
using the standard Dialog Box that appears
[RUMM2030 will perform this task and place the completed file in the folder you specify];
3. attached the renewal file to an email and forward to RUMM Laboratory, requesting renewal of your current licence;
4. an Invoice [as PDF] will be forwarded by return email [select the appropriate Tab below for the cost of the licence renewal];
5. when payment has been received, the internet download instructions will be forwarded by return email;
6. details of new features and changes/amendments to RUMM2030 will be provided in the download [see step 5.].
7. the update to RUMM2030 is achieved by merely installing the special patch file downloaded [see step 5.].
